Buying Power Game: Thanksgiving Edition
I designed, art directed, and illustrated this fully interactive game explaining Thanksgiving grocery inflation over a 5-year period.
Depending on users’ choice, they explore either a nostalgic grocery shopping interface with 2018 prices or a modern, online interface with 2023 prices. After placing their grocery selections into the cart, users are presented with a total for their selections at the end, with the option to then shop in another year.
I designed and hand-illustrated every element of the game in watercolor. I designed all layouts and UX/UI.

Art direction and layout design for an exclusive behind-the-scenes on the creation and casting of iconic Broadway character, Roxie Hart. I also created original immersive and spot illustrations, drawing inspiration from vintage Disney illustration and Chicago posters to incorporate a sense of theatrical magic. My work won an award for Best of the AP.

‘Afghanistan in a New Light: Women, Erased’ ︎︎︎
Type treatment and web layout design for a photo story by Rodrigo Abd, who used a traditional Afghan “box camera” to document how life has changed for women in Afghanistan since U.S. troops left and the Taliban returned.
I designed the story to reflect this rare photography medium; as the user scrolls through, it feels almost as though they are peering through the camera shutter.

Paper collages, handmade and digitized, for a story on teenage Mexican migrant smugglers using TikTok to advertise their smuggling services into the US. Their videos are bizarre and kitschy, featuring interviews with migrants as they illegally cross the border, and plastered with location tags and emojis (commonly chickens— Mexican slang for smugglers). The haphazard, scrappy collage approach reflects the slapdash way these videos are being made, along with their predatory undertones.

Design, data viz, and illustration for a polling story on U.S. adults’ opinions about Valentine’s Day. Since the data was unpredictable, I illustrated a range of Valentine’s experiences and relationships— including family time, same-sex relationships, heartbreak, and a nod to Luca Guadagnino‘s Challengers.
